This is the school office. This is where the school secretaries work. They can help you if you are late, need a form or if you need any other school information.

The principal is in charge of the school and is very busy but you will often meet the principal around the school keeping an eye on things.
We also have a machine called a CNC router. This machine can carve writing and images into pieces and can also carve out 3D shapes. The machine must be programmed by a computer and this computer then controls the machine.
This is the Guidance Counsellors office. The Guidance Counsellor will support you during your school years, giving you educational, vocational and personal and emotional support.
This is the Deputy Principal’s office. The Deputy Principal looks after the day to day things such as organising rooms, making sure everyone knows where they should be and making sure everyone is happy in school.
Biology is the study of living things. Part of that study involves learning about the different systems in the human body and how they work. We use models like these to help us visualise specific organs in these systems. As scientists we need to know how these systems work together and depend on each other to help us live.
This is a molecular model of how ice would look if we could see the atoms of hydrogen and oxygen in the water molecules.
The brush station is where you can select the right tool for the job you are doing. It is also where you look after your equipment.
You will study the different styles of art and art appreciation. Pop Art is one genre that you will study on your art course.
This is where bold colours and common everyday objects are used. Pop Art stands for popular art. An example is Andy Warhol’s ‘Campbell’s Soup’.
Sculpture is the branch of the visual arts that operates in three dimensions.
The basic traditional form of this 3-D art is free-standing sculpture, which is surrounded on all sides by space.
Sculpture can use a variety of materials such as wood, clay, stone or paper.
You will see pictures on the walls with designed lettering. To create design work such as posters you will investigate the principles of design which include scale, balance and symmetry.
These principles of design can be used for decorating your room to fashion design.
In an Induction Cooktop ("Induction Hob" or "Induction Stove"), a coil of copper wire is placed under the cooking pot and an alternating electric current is passed through it. The resulting oscillating magnetic field wirelessly induces an electrical current in the pot.
You cannot use an ordinary saucepan on an induction hob.
A pantry is a cabinet specifically designed or used to store food. It is great to have all of one's dishes and cutlery neatly organized in cabinets and drawers, but the storage or dried goods, canned goods, spices and condiments is fundamental to the purpose of a kitchen: cooking
You will learn to use a variety of equipment in home economics.
You will learn to use a sewing machine in home economics.
Fume hoods are ventilated enclosures that remove hazardous chemical fumes and volatile vapours from the laboratory.
The periodic table contains all known elements which are the building blocks of all things including ourselves. It was 150 years old in 2019.
A resource board is where you will find lots of ideas for your work in home economics.
This piece of equipment is named after Robert Bunsen. It is a common piece of laboratory equipment that produces a single open gas flame. This is used for heating, sterilisation and combustion.
A belt sander or strip sander is a sander used in shaping and finishing wood and other materials. It consists of an electric motor that turns a pair of drums on which a continuous loop of sandpaper is mounted. Fitted with fine grit sand paper, a belt sander can be used to achieve a completely smooth surface.
A Pillar Drill is a free standing machine that uses a motor to rotate a drill bit. This drill bit then can be used to cut holes of different diameters in different types of material. The pillar drill can be small enough to fit onto a table (bench pillar drill) or as big as a human.
The Morticer is used to cut mortice and tenon joints. These are square or rectangular holes used to hold to connect two pieces of wood together.
A Bandsaw is a power saw with a long, sharp blade consisting of a continuous band of toothed metal stretched between two or more wheels to cut material. They are used principally in woodworking, metalworking, and lumbering, but may cut a variety of materials
Woodturning is the craft of using the wood lathe with hand-held tools to cut a shape that is symmetrical around the axis of rotation. Like the potter's wheel, the wood lathe is a simple mechanism which can generate a variety of forms. A skilled turner can produce a wide variety of objects with five or six simple tools
A Brazing Hearth is solid bench like piece of equipment with robust sides that act as heat shields. The brazing hearth contains a compressor which pressurises air and gas so that it is forced out the nozzle of a gas-air torch.
Traditional metalwork hand tools are still used today. They smooth, polish, cut and abrade metal for projects that range from automotive part repair to jewelry making. The hand tools used in metal work have few—if any—moving parts, and their simple design and construction give them strength and longevity.
The Lathe is a machine that is used to turn cylindrical or conical pieces.
The primary function of any vise is to hold an object safety and securely so that it can be worked on. Bench vises make work such as sanding, finishing, chipping, sawing, and welding easier by freeing the operator's hands to perform the needed task.
The Bending Machine is used to bend thin sheets of metal. The piece is clamped and bent to a required angle. This angle can be checked using an Engineers Protractor.
